When these pictures were taken, it was still just a bit early
in the foliage season. Although it isn't quite the peak foliage season,
there are still a few trees that show their colors early. The trees in the
Housatonic River Valley tend to change slightly before the trees on the
hills change. The following pictures were taken on the afternoon of October 13, 2004. There were taken along the banks of the Housatonic River in Kent, Connecticut. |

| The first set of photos were taken in the Bull's Bridge area
of Kent. The area has one of the few remaining covered bridges in Connecticut.
The area is also popular with Kayak paddlers as well as hikers of the Appalachian
Trail which runs through the area. |

| Just north of Bull's Bridge is Schaghticoke Road. This leads
through the Schaghticoke Indian Reservation and also offers some great views
of the Housatonic River. |

| On the north end of Schaghticoke Road is Route 341. Take
a left (west) will bring you to the entrance to Macedonia Brook State Park
and eventually into New York State. Taking a right (east) will bring you
past the Kent School and back to Route 7 and downtown Kent. Several mountains line Route 341 and
offer some bright colors during the foliage season. |

The collection of fall foliage pictures
shown on these pages were taken by me unless otherwise noted. Most shots
were taken in Litchfield County, Connecticut which is located in Central
and North Western Connecticut. During October, leafpeeping is my favorite
hobby as the trees change from green to red and yellow. |
